A collection of images of works by Dan Welden
With more than 60 years of experience creating art, Dan Welden has become the leading, forefront innovator for healthier and safer processes in printmaking. Since 1970, he created and has continuously pioneered the ‘acidness’ process and alternative polymer printmaking technique known as Solarplate Etching.
As co-author of Printmaking in the Sun, director of Hampton Editions, Ltd., and Master Printmaker, Dan has collaborated with and produced prints for Willem de Kooning, Eric Fischl, Kiki Smith, Roy Nicholson, and Dan Flavin, as well as many others. He has received recognition from residences, workshops, and lectures, culminating in 97 solo exhibitions to date, and he has received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from A/E Foundation, New York. He was awarded Professor Emeritus from the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Cuzco, Peru, and received a 2020 Pollock/Krasner Grant propelling his artistic talents and returning him to his painting career.
